Low Disaccharide


Quick to make, and very few ingredients.

Serves: 2 – 4

Prep time: 15 mins

Cooking time: 40 mins


  • 400g broccoli, roughly chopped (florets and stems)
  • 1 1/2 cups water (or stock)
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp curry powder
  • 1 cup coconut cream


  • Put broccoli and water into saucepan with salt, nutmeg and curry.
  • Bring to the boil and reduce heat to simmer for 20-30 minutes, or until soft.
  • Blend with stick blender, or other food processor.
  • Add coconut cream (or milk) and stir.
  • Garnish with croutons or chopped coriander.


I have included this in Low Disaccharide dishes because although broccoli and curry have some disaccharides, they are very minimal. It would be very unlikely that a reaction would present itself, but check your allergies before consuming large amounts.
